MC Hammer followed the Warriors to Cleveland for Game 6 (Video)
By Josh Hill
MC Hammer acted as the Warriors’ cheerleader for Game 5, and he followed the team to Cleveland for Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
As the Golden State Warriors won Game 5 of the NBA Finals and took a huge 3-2 series lead, we were all reminded that MC Hammer was once a thing.
Millennials who didn’t know who MC Hammer was were quick to Google him and discover that he’s the man behind the Can’t Touch This craze from the early 1990s. After that hit song and music video, which made puffy pants cool, MC Hammer infamously went bankrupt and fell into the depths of celebrity obscurity.
That is, of course, until Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Over 25 years after he was a sensation around the world, MC Hammer wandered back into our lives in the most nonchalant way possible. Now that he’s a thing again, MC Hammer is living up the moment and supporting his favorite basketball team as they attempt to win their first title in over 40 years.
MC Hammer assumed the same position at Game 6 of the NBA Finals in Cleveland as he did in Game 5 to support the Warriors back in Oakland.
He’s from the bay area and has long supported the Warriors, so to call him a fad is unfair.
Then again, MC Hammer is only famous because he was a fad in the early 90s, but bringing if he’s bringing the Warriors luck you won’t hear complaints from anyone in Oakland.
