NBA Trade: Bucks acquire Greivis Vasquez from Raptors
By Josh Hill
The NBA Draft took 13 picks to see it’s first trade go down and it didn’t even involve a player picked or a team involved with that selection.
Milwaukee Bucks fans have been excited by what they’ve seen out of a team that seemed to be giving up early last season but ended up making the postseason as a No. 6 seed. It was a violent turnaround for the Bucks and it was spurred by a big trade they were involved in that landed them Michael Carter-Williams and Miles Plumlee.
Those two additions, as well as improved play thanks to the coaching of Jason Kidd, led the Bucks to the postseason and resulted in an interesting series against the Bulls. It wasn’t a fruitful series and ended sadly for Milwaukee but things are still looking up.
Following another trade this summer, where the Bucks sent Ersan Ilyasova to the Pistons, Milwaukee has made another trade on Draft Night.
According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, the Milwaukee Bucks have acquired Greivis Vasquez from the Toronto Raptors to beef up their young roster.
The Bucks still have cap space to spare, and it’s unclear if they’re going to hang onto Vasquez or deal him somewhere else. It appears that the Bucks will end up keeping Vazquez and if they do that means they’re going to have a veteran who can be a leader for Jason Kidd and help a young team grow into contenders they suddenly looked to be late in the season.
