Packers CB tweets that De’Andre Johnson should stay on team

There is stupidity, and then there is Casey Heyward’s tweet on the incident involving former Florida State Seminoles quarterback De’Andre Johnson and a woman he punched at a bar in Tallahassee, Fla.

Johnson was charged with misdemeanor battery for this episode on June 24, where he unloaded with a vicious right hook to the face of a woman at a bar named Yiannis. In the video below, you can see the two arguing before Johnson grabs her arm and shoves her. When the woman brought her knee to his midsection, Johnson swung his fist and cracked her in the face, leaving her with bruising, swelling and a cut on her nose, according to Tallahassee.com.

Somehow, Heyward responded to that video with this tweet:

So, let’s be clear, Casey. You think Johnson should be punished, but not thrown off the team for that indefensible punch to a woman’s face? What would it take for Johnson to be banned from the program for you? Did he have to punch her again? Maybe throw her through a window?

And, on top of that, Heyward believes the woman should be punished. Right, because a woman, who is probably half the size of this clown, deserves to belted in the face because she got into an argument at the bar. How many times have men been in arguments with women at bars, even been pushed or slapped, and simply walked away? Millions. It happens when alcohol is present in a crowded space.

Florida State also deserves zero credit here. Johnson was only kicked off the team after the video surfaced, which gives plenty of reason to doubt whether Johnson would have been booted off the club had the video remained private. The whole thing is just a total disgrace all the way around.
