Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has had a rough 48 hours, losing big fish free agent DeAndre Jordan, who locked himself in his house with members of the Los Angeles Clippers and eventually re-signed.

This morning Cuban addressed fans on the Cyberdust app with a personal message. The interesting tidbits are that he promises to release all the details regarding the whirlwind situation yesterday and that he offered free agent Wes Matthews the option to also back out of his opportunity.

That’s right, when Cuban knew Jordan wasn’t coming back to the Mavericks and that a long and rough season awaited the Mavericks he offered their other big free agent signing Wesley Matthews the opportunity to seek another opportunity.

Cuban’s message can be read below.

“Dear Mavs fans.

“There will be a time when I detail everything I know regarding the last 48 hours.

“I don’t think the time is right to say anything beyond the facts that he never responded to me at all yesterday. Not Once. To this minute I have not heard anything from him since Tuesday night.

“More importantly I told Wes that I would not hold him to his commitment if he wanted to go elsewhere. I can’t print his exact response, but suffice it to say he is excited to play for our Mavs:) Wes Matthews is exactly the type of player we want in a Mavs uniform and our Fans will love him.

“He will be in Dallas today so if you see him give him an MFFL welcome.”
