Legendary grappler Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart is the likely replacement for Hulk Hogan on WWE reality show Tough Enough.

WWE’s firing of Hulk Hogan has resulted in a number of things happening in the last 24 hours. For one, the company’s stock has dropped a tremendous amount and shareholders have lost a considerable amount of money. Moreover, WWE no longer has one of its legends for promotional purposes. Perhaps the most immediate consequence is that there is now a vacant spot as a judge on WWE’s reality show Tough Enough.

WWE has been in talks with several superstars, both current and former, about taking Hogan’s previous position on Tough Enough alongside Daniel Bryan and Paige. However, it seems now that another wrestling legend is likely to fill the void left by the Hulkster.

According to a report from Wrestle Zone, Bret Hart went to meet with Vince McMahon on Saturday afternoon to discuss taking the role as the third judge on Tough Enough. Moreover, Wrestle Zone is also saying that it looks to be quite likely that Hart will end up being Hogan’s replacement on the panel.

While Hart was never and isn’t the icon that Hogan is, he’s one of the most respected performers in the history of the business. Since mending ties with WWE after his controversial exit to WCW and the Montreal Screwjob in the 90s, Hart has been used in a number of programs, storylines, and promotional appearances. This, however, would be the biggest role that the company has put him in over the past few years.

Even more interesting than replacing Hogan with Hart is how WWE will choose to handle Hogan’s departure on Tough Enough. One has to wonder whether that will be something that they choose to address directly or to completely ignore and move on from as if Hogan was never there at all.

With the audio of Hogan’s racist tirade still not yet released to the public, there’s undoubtedly going to be more buzz regarding the situation in the coming days. What’s next for Hogan will be interesting, but more curious is how WWE plans to restructure their promotional techniques and situations like Tough Enough now that they’ve erased Hogan from virtually everything. Now that Hart seems to be on track to replace Hogan as a judge on the show, you have to assume that they will address similar problems in the same manner, bringing in other legends to fill Hogan’s various roles.
