Rudy Gobert trolls Team USA for leaving Derrick Favors off roster
By Josh Hill
The Team USA minicamp rosters were released on Thursday, and Rudy Gobert is not happy about the snub of his teammate.
On Thursday afternoon, the 34-an minicamp roster for Team USA basketball was announced, but not every name you expected to see on the list was present. One major exclusion was Derrick Rose, who as a result of not appearing at the training camp won’t be a part of the 2016 Rio Olympics team.
Another name not on the list was that of Utah Jazz forward Derrick Favors.
After the Team USA minicamp roster was announced and Derrick Favors was not part of the final list, his teammate Rudy Gobert took to Twitter with a troll of a question.
Derrick Favors is 24-years old, and unless he’s not telling us the whole truth, he’s not retired.
He was also born in Atlanta, so if you’re questioning his American citizenship then stop. In this day and age of Canadian basketball players though, it’s hard to determine who are the Americans and who aren’t. Favors is one of those Americans but he’s not going to be playing for his country in 2016.
There’s a solid chance that Gobert plays for his native France, so maybe it’s good that these two won’t be going at it on the hardwood in Rio.
