ESPN’s Chris Broussard tried to report on Tristan Thompson Thursday and things got out of hand in a big hurry
Throughout the years, ESPN’s Chris Broussard has taken a lot of flack from NBA fans. In actuality, most of it is deserved. He’ll either get a report completely wrong or he’ll report on something citing “his sources” well after someone like Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski had reported it. Again, you can see why he takes some heat here.
Well, on Thursday, he had one of his biggest blunders to date.
Thursday afternoon Broussard reported that Tristan Thompson and the Cavaliers had agreed on a three-year deal, news that people have been waiting quite a while for. This was especially noteworthy seeing as the season starts rather soon.
HOORAY! Right?! Yeah, well, we would come to find out from the Akron Beacon Journal that the two sides actually had not come to an agreement. Instead of just saying that his sources were incorrect, we go this:
Sources: Tristan Thompson is WILLING to sign a 3-year, $53 million deal with the Cavs. Cavs have not yet agreed to the deal.

Oof. Not good. So, naturally the fans let him have it.
