Broncos’ Chris Harris almost runs back blocked extra point (Video)
Chris Harris almost gave the Broncos two point by running back a blocked extra point
The Detroit Lions put together a nice drive in the second quarter against the Denver Broncos and looked like they were about to be pulling even with the AFC powerhouse. However, Aqib Talib and Chris Harris had other plans for the Lions’ PAT try that would’ve made it 7-7.
Talib came in hot off of the edge and cleanly blocked the extra point attempt, sending the ball bouncing to the sideline where Harris was ready to pounce. Harris then took off up the field, trying to get two points for his team instead with a lot of daylight ahead of him:
He was obviously eventually caught by tight end Eric Ebron. It’s a good thing that Ebron caught up with him, too; it was Ebron who whiffed on his block on the right edge of the line that allowed Talib to get into the backfield untouched and block the kick. I guess that chase down tackle is another useful reason to have a tight end who runs a 4.6-second 40-yard dash on your roster.
That blocked kick seemed to give the Broncos momentum on the road as they took a gamble in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter that led to a touchdown and a 14-6 lead going into halftime.
