Gerald Green got loose in the open court, which means something awesome happened

Gerald Green is entering his first season with the Miami Heat, meaning he’s one of the pieces that the Heat will be trying to integrate into their rotation during training camp and preseason action. However, he showed in the Heat’s first preseason game on Sunday night that there’s one thing he can do no matter what jersey he’s wearing.

Green got a steal at the top of the key on the defensive end and poked it out ahead of the break. The veteran wing ran it down and it was just him and the rim, a match made in heaven. At that point, it was time for Green to do what he does best:

We’ve seen Green throw down some pretty unreal dunks over the course of his career, so a breakaway windmill probably doesn’t even break into his top-20 all-time. However, that doesn’t make his windmill dunk look any less flawless or awesome when he throws it down.

More importantly, Green getting fast-break windmill dunks means that basketball is back. It’s only the preseason and everyone is getting into their grooves, but roundball has returned. Let’s hope that Green’s dunk on Sunday was just the prelude and that the main event is loaded in the chamber for the regular season, ready to make our jaws drop.
