Charles went down early in the third quarter of the game on Sunday as he tried to make the cut. As we’ve found out time and time again, generally when a player goes down like that with a non-contact injury, the news that comes of it is not good. Once again, that is the case here with Charles.
Of course, this means that he will definitely miss the remainder of the season. The Chiefs running back, one of the unquestioned best in the league over the past few seasons, will finish 2015 with 364 yards on 71 carries with four touchdowns. Assuming that all the rehab goes as planned, he will be back in the saddle for the 2016 season good to go.
As for the team themselves, there’s not a question in anyone’s mind that this is a crushing blow in what has really been a disappointing season thus far. After the loss on Sunday, the Chiefs sit at 1-4 on the season, which is shocking to many people seeing as they came into the year looked at as a contender in the AFC West.
Now, to make matters worse, they have to go the rest of the way without one of the best running backs in the NFL.
