The Chicago Cubs are off to the NLCS, and Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder was in the clubhouse to celebrate with the team.

For the first time in the history of Wrigley Field — which has been a long history — the Cubs have clinched a postseason series at home. Chicago bested the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday in the NLDS and advanced to the Championship Series for the first time since they did a handful of years ago before Steve Bartman struck.

But right now everything is coming up Cubs, and while they’re not a team that celebrities fawn over that doesn’t mean they don’t have famous faces celebrating their ride to the top. Eddie Vedder is one of those fans, and he was on hand on the North Side to watch the NLDS clincher.

Of course, the lifelong Cubs fan and Pearl Jam lead singer was right there in the clubhouse to celebrate the first ever series clinching win at Wrigley Field.

We can’t be surprised that Vedder was in the clubhouse for this historic moment in Cubs history. While the singer made a name for himself with a Seattle band in the 1990s, Vedder was born in Illinois and has been a Cubs fan for as long as he’s been alive.

As long as the Cubs are in the postseason, we can probably expect Vedder to be right there celebrating with them. However, Pearl Jam begins a tour in South America soon and will be out of the country during the World Series, which means Vedder is pulling for a dynasty to be born so he can celebrate with the Cubs year after year instead of being on tour.
