Epic finish of regulation between FC Dallas & the Seattle Sounders (Video)
In what may have been the craziest final 10 minutes of any Major League Soccer match this season, FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders combined to score a total of three goals to send the match into extra time
What an amazing finish to regulation on Sunday night in the MLS Playoff game between FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders.
Last season’s Major League Soccer Rookie of the Year, Tesho Akindele, came in as a second half substitute and scored a massive goal for FC Dallas with his first touch of the ball. With his club down 2-1 on aggregate, he notched one in the 84th minute of play at Toyota Park to put his club ahead through the away goal rule.
However, the lead would be short-lived, as the Seattle Sounders responded immediately. With his team’s season on the line, Chad Marshall, buried one in injury time to give his side the advantage once again.
FC Dallas were not going to go down without a fight though, as Walker Zimmerman, found the back of the net to put his side on level terms once again, just mere seconds after Marshall. FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders headed into extra-time with the score being 2-1 on the night and even on aggregate at 3-3.
The winner of Sunday night’s match in Texas will play the winner of the Vancouver Whitecaps and Portland Timbers in the MLS Western Conference Final. Vancouver hosts Portland in the second leg of their aggregate series on Sunday night, with the first game going scoreless. The Western Conference Final will take place in two weeks on November 22nd.
