Blaine Gabbert had a press conference and the 49ers quarterback was the only one to show up

San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert has been the butt of many jokes since he came into the NFL, largely regarding his performance on the field. However, the joke became quite cruel on Wednesday when Blaine Gabbert walked out to the podium to hold a press conference and no one was there:

As for the question of what Gabbert did, he handled it the only way that he should have by having a bit of fun with the situation. The quarterback took a seat in the audience to ask himself some hard-hitting questions:

While it would indeed be cruel if the media was playing a prank on Gabbert by not showing up to his presser, the blame actually falls on the 49ers. Gabbert was told he had a press conference and was there on time, but the quarterback wasn’t on the schedule that was sent out to media member by the team:

Even if it was a harmless mistake on the part of the team, that Gabbert took the whole thing in stride by just rolling with it and making light of the situation is great to see. He performed well in dealing with this instance, but dealing with the Arizona Cardinals defense on Sunday will be a bit more difficult to manage.
