With Chip Kelly’s future in Philadelphia potentially almost over, what five college football programs could he end up at?

It’s about time to say goodbye to Chip Kelly in Philadelphia.

With the way the Eagles have been imploding the last month, the future of Chip Kelly looks bleak in Philadelphia. Add in the rampant rumors of tension between he and management, and it just does not look good for Chip Kelly going forward as the Eagles coach, especially considering the fact that he turned the roster into a giant mess.

Even before this disaster of a season for Kelly, there had been rumors that he would eventually make his way back to college football. Those rumors even persisted back when he first accepted the job to become the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Well with the Eagles finally melting down for good in Detroit on Thanksgiving, the end is near for Kelly. At this point, it has to be, as it would be tough to sell the people of Philadelphia on a plan for the future that will work. The people of Philadelphia are smarter than that. They already have to trust the losses…err…process with the 76ers and will not put up with the crazy plans that Chip Kelly has for the Eagles. With a mess this bad, it wouldn’t even be surprising to see Kelly leave at this point, especially considering if there’s problems between he and management.

Anyways, it looks like Chip Kelly will be coaching somewhere else next season and there’s a lot of places that he could end up coaching. While Tennessee with Marcus Mariota could be an option, it’s hard to see any NFL team wanting to give Kelly a chance in the league with the way he took a sledgehammer to the Eagles’ roster.

That being said, there are plenty of college programs that would be chasing after Kelly to be their head coach. Not just any college programs, but good college programs. At Oregon, Kelly proved he was one of the best coaches in college football and the success he had with their program will only make him even more desirable to top programs around the country.

There are also going to be several appealing jobs available to him to after this season. With lots of uncertainties within many programs and some coaches already being canned, or at least close to being canned, Chip Kelly will be the top target for those programs.

So where will Kelly be coaching next season, if it is a college program?
