After being suspended last month for PED’s, the Carolina Panthers have waived defensive end Wes Horton.

A month ago, Carolina Panthers defensive end Wes Horton was suspended four games for his use of PED’s. Now the defensive end is out of a job with the Panthers.

According to Joe Person, the Carolina Panthers have waived Horton.

Horton had finished his suspension and was on the exempt list, as the Panthers tried to figure out what to do with him on the roster.

With the playoffs right around the corner and the Panthers trying to hold onto their top spot in the NFC, they decided they didn’t want to have to release anyone on the roster currently to make room for Horton.

Horton had just one sack in the six games that he played this season and really failed to make an impact. He showed initial signs of progress early on with the team, but he was never really able to take that next step as a productive defensive end in this league.

The talent is there and there exists a chance that the young defensive end will be picked up by another team, but it won’t be the Panthers right now. The team finally dropped their first game of the season and is now focusing on a Super Bowl run.
