Pep Guardiola claims that it could be two years before he takes a job in the Premier League.
Current Bayern Munich head coach, Pep Guardiola, had already made it clear that he would not be renewing his contract with the Bavarian giants when it expires at the end of the season. The Spanish tactician confirmed that he plans to coach in the Premier League next, and Bayern Munich have already announced that Carlo Ancelotti will be taking over the bench next year.
However, the 44-year-old claims that while he does plan on coaching in the English top flight, it may not necessarily be next season.
“Maybe it will be two years until I will coach a team in England,” he said at a press conference, via Goal.
“I am very happy about my experience in Munich. I am working until my last second here.
“After that I will go home and wait to see if it is possible to move to England or not. If it’s not, then I won’t.”
The former Barcelona boss has been linked with a plethora of teams across the Premier League, including the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal. Although reports have emerged from across the pond that Guardiola has already put pen to paper with his next club, the Spaniard remains adamant that he has not yet reached an agreement with any team yet.
“When I sign a contract I will announce it immediately,” Guardiola added.
Guardiola is looking to win his first UEFA Champions League title with Bayern Munich, after winning the Bundesliga in both of his first two seasons with the team. The Germans are well on their way to a third consecutive league title under the tactician, currently sitting in first place with 46 points from 17 matches.
