Aqib Talib extended the Panthers’ drive by taunting Philly Brown.

The Denver Broncos have played a near-perfect game on defense so far. They’ve cut off the Carolina Panthers‘ pass attack and have kept pressure on Cam Newton to the point where they forced a scoop-and-score. But Aqib Talib displayed some poor discipline when he taunted Philly Brown after stopping him on third down. It resulted in the Panthers extending the drive:

Luckily for the Broncos, it didn’t lead to anything as the Panthers punted it away. However, Talib needs to keep his head in the game. Newton is the MVP, and the Panthers are too lethal on offense to keep playing this poorly, and while it didn’t come back to bite them this time, it could later.

As expected, the Broncos defense came to play. While the Panthers have whitewashed some very talented secondary units this season, this is without question the toughest matchup Newton’s had all season. In the battle of first vs. second pick, Von Miller is winning big so far. If the Panthers need to get back in the game, they need to get a quick score to shift the momentum.
