Magic big man Aaron Gordon threw down an insane dunk involving a mascot on a hoverboard

Orlando Magic big man Aaron Gordon came into the 2016 Slam Dunk Contest looking like the biggest challenger to what seemed to be the immortality of Zach LaVine. However, he showed quite quickly that he was much more than a challenger and a dunker who is every bit on the level of LaVine, particularly when it came down to those two in the finals of the contest.

Gordon started things off by going absolutely insane. He brought the Magic mascot out on a hoverboard and had him rotating while holding the ball inside the lane. Perfectly timing his run, Gordon ran up and took the ball from the mascot before uncorking a huge windmill with his hand behind his head to boot:

Just to get things even crazier in Toronto, though, Gordon’s second dunk of the finals saw him pull out the Orlando mascot out again. This time though, Gordon essentially took the ball for him while jumping over him in a seated position and then putting the ball under his legs before a monster jam:

This is just insane. If anyone was ever saying that the dunk contest went away, they are now patently wrong. It has life; it has a pulse; and that pulse beats to the names of Aaron Gordon and Zach LaVine.
