The Undertaker’s opponent for WWE WrestleMania 32 may not be on the roster right now

There are numerous unknowns within WWE regarding the card for WrestleMania 32. Given injuries to the likes of John Cena, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, and the now-retired Daniel Bryan, the company has been left seemingly scrambling to put together a card that can sell out Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. A big part of that is who is facing The Undertaker in what could potentially be the Deadman’s last match at WrestleMania.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, previously mentioned potential opponents for The Undertaker such as a returning Cena, Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, and Brock Lesnar are no longer on the table. In fact, The WON is reporting that the opponent for Taker could very well be someone who is not on the roster right now.

That’s a very vague statement in regards to options for The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. “Not on the roster” could obviously refer to someone not in the company, someone who is currently in NXT, or someone who is not a full-time worker for WWE and could be returning for a match with The Phenom at Mania.

The latter two seem like the more realistic options given the pedigree of opponent expected for WrestleMania matches with The Undertaker. Subsequently, someone like Finn Balor or Samoa Joe comes to mind as potential call-ups from NXT to face Undertaker.

In regards to wrestlers who could be returning to WWE to face The Undertaker, the most likely option would be Sting. Though he’s assumedly still recovering from neck surgery right now, he is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year and a match between The Icon and The Phenom has long been a dream match of wrestling fans.

Again, this is all just speculation right now as the word is more certain on who won’t be facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. Assumedly we will start getting more definitive answers after Fastlane.
