Lights go out during Oregon vs USC basketball game (Video)

During the first half of the Pac-12 basketball game between the Oregon Ducks and the USC Trojans, the lights went out at the Trojans’ home in Galen Arena.
At the 5:27 mark in the Pac-12 basketball game between the Oregon Ducks and the USC Trojans, the lights flickered and then went out at the Trojans’ home court at Galen Arena. The Ducks were leading 31-22 with the basketball running their half court offense when darkness swept the entire arena.
Pac-12 Network analyst Yogi Roth said on the telecast that the lights have only gone out in Galen Arena once before during a volleyball match. This was the first time it has ever happened on the hardwood at USC during a basketball game.
With Oregon leading the game late in the first half, many fans tried to light their way by using their cell phones. Is this a basketball game or is the arena pushing for an encore at a concert for a popular musical artist in Downtown Los Angeles?
For a network that coined the phrase “Pac-12 After Dark”, the Pac-12 Network might be getting their wish in a way that they least expected. The sun was out in sunny Southern California Saturday afternoon, but that didn’t mean that the lights at USC’s Galen Arena were going to cooperate.
Oregon entered play Saturday with the No. 9 team in the country with a 24-6 overall record and were leading the Pac-12 with a 13-4 conference record. USC entered play with a 20-10 record on the year and were in the middle of the pack in the conference in sixth place at 9-8. Fight on! More like the lights back on!
