According to Adam Schefter, quarterback Brandon Weeden will be visiting the Miami Dolphins.

With the first few days of the NFL free agency frenzy coming to an end, teams have begun looking at players that can be brought in on cheaper deals rather than the big deals for big players. The Miami Dolphins are a team that could be looking to upgrade their backup quarterback position, as they look to shore up the depth chart behind Ryan Tannehill.

According to Adam Schefter, the Dolphins will be bringing in Brandon Weeden for a visit.

After failing as a starter with the Browns, Weeden has bounced around as a backup with the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans.

He hasn’t done anything really exceptional in his time as a backup, but teams see him as someone that can hold down the fort in an emergency situation rather than rushing an inexperienced quarterback that isn’t ready for the start.

In 2015, with the Cowboys and Texans, Weeden threw for 1,043 yards and 5 touchdowns in six starts. He proved to be a serviceable backup and the Dolphins might be looking to strengthen their quarterback room if they don’t bring back Matt Moore. Weeden will turn 33 years old this season.
