Celtics fans chant for Kevin Durant to sign with Boston (Video)

Boston Celtics fans chanted for Kevin Durant to sign with their team — because it’s worth a shot.
No matter what anyone tries to tell you, Kevin Durant will be a free agent this summer and won’t be agreeing to a deal with anyone before then. The idea of one of the best players in the league hitting the open market has fan bases all over the NBA in a frenzy, as everyone from fans in Washington to Golden State believe their team can sign KD.
Add Boston Celtics fans into this mix, because why the hell not? Durant and the Thunder were at the TD Garden on Wednesday night, and fans decided — in unison — that they were going to try and convince Durant to stay.
When Durant stepped to the free throw line, fans began begging him to never leave — like come to the Celtics, never leave.
This isn’t the first time a fan base has collectively decided to try and convince KD to come and play for their team, and it won’t be the last. Durant will be the most coveted free agent to hit the market since LeBron James did in 2010 — the time we didn’t know where he was going to sign.
Boston is an interesting destination for Durant in that it’s not really one any of us have truly considered. The big markets and big teams like New York, Golden State, Los Angeles and Miami have all been rumored to be in on Durant, so why not Boston?
The Celtics have the cap space to sign him, have the talent to win and play in the East. All of that sounds perfect for Durant, as he would not only be in a position to win a title but restore the good name of one of the most storied franchises in basketball history.
It’ll never happen, but A for effort in Boston.
