The Cowboys and Dolphins are holding private workouts with Connor Cook.

With the NFL Draft around the corner, teams are going to start holding ovate workouts with players they may or may not be interested in.

teams only have so many private workouts they can schedule, but using workouts as smokescreens isn’t something that is an asinine idea. The fun is in trying to determine which visits are real and which ones are posturing to try and get teams to trade with you.

According to the latest rumor, it appears that both the Cowboys and Dolphins have interest in Connor Cook.

While it’s not surprising that Dallas would be looking at a quarterback in the draft, it’s interesting to note that the Dolphins are holding a private workout with a projected first-round pick.

Miami is deep into Ryan Tannehill, and hearing Cook rumored as a potential pick for the team seems to suggest that Adam Gase might be ready to install his own guy. That being said, we saw Washington take Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins in the same draft when only one of them could start, and Miami wouldn’t be the only team to have a franchise guy and select a quarterback high up in the draft. New England spent his high pick on Jimmy Garoppolo despite the fact that they have a Hall of Famer in Tom Brady who won’t be retiring anytime soon.

The Dolphins are merely holding a private workout with Cook, something the Patriots did with Johnny Manziel but were never lose to taking him. If Cook slides out of the first-round, then maybe this is something to note but this could also be Miami doing their due diligence and nothing more.
