The radio call of the Northern Iowa buzzer beater was probably better than the shot itself
Friday night the term “March Madness” was literally defined to us, and we can thank the Northern Iowa Panthers for that. In what was one of the craziest endings in the history of the NCAA Tournament, with time running down on the clock and the game all tied up at 72, it looked as if we were headed to overtime. However, Northern Iowa’s Paul Jesperson had other ideas, heaving a half court shot for the ages to give Northern Iowa the win.
If you missed it, first off what are you doing with your life, and secondly here’s the amazing highlight.
"PAUL JESPERSON FROM HALF COURT! #MarchMadness https://t.co/kiZW9MSQUe— NCAA March Madness (@marchmadness) March 19, 2016"
Just an amazing moment and the truTV crew did an amazing job capturing the moment in all its glory, especially the announcing team.
But you know what makes this moment even greater, as if that was even possible? The Northern Iowa radio call of one of the greatest plays in NCAA Tournament history from Panthers play-by-play man Gary Rima.
Really, it’s moments like this that remind us all why we love the month of March so much, and whether you’re a fan of the victorious team or not, the homer calls just make everything greater.
