One player to watch from each team remaining in the Sweet 16 of 2016 March Madness

The first two rounds of 2016 March Madness are in the books and now the teams that have survived and advanced are getting amped up for their respective Sweet 16 matchups. If the first weekend was any indication of things to come in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, college basketball fans are in for a treat come the Sweet 16.

As is always the case when it comes to March Madness, though, we’ve already seen some big-time individual performances either carry teams to victory or come close. Buddy Hield predictably carried the Oklahoma Sooners to victory in the Second Round after the VCU Rams put them to the test. Then there are players like Thomas Walkup for the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks who carried his team to a First Round upset and almost led them to another in the Second Round.

There are almost too many big-time performances to count already, but the point remains that one player can legitimately swing a game in March Madness in favor of his team to help them advance. It proved to be true in the first two rounds and it will certainly be the same case in the Sweet 16.

However, fans are always looking for the player who is going to be that guy that makes or breaks their team, especially as the stakes get higher with the Sweet 16 getting underway. Maybe it’s the star player for one team that is going to be the guy, but it could also be a player that’s simply an X-factor in a given matchup.

With all of that in mind, these are the players to watch from each team in the Sweet 16 of 2016 March Madness.
