Virginia is just playing games with Iowa State and this play from Darius Thompson is the perfect example of that

To say that things got off to a horrible start for the Iowa State Cyclones in the Sweet 16 on Friday night would be an understatement. The Virginia Cavaliers came out like a ferocious ball of fire and opened up a huge lead on the Cyclones, and at time, it just looked too easy for one of the best teams in the ACC.

Well, it was definitely too easy for Darius Thompson on this play in the first half.

As the Cavaliers were playing around with the Cyclones, Thompson came down the court with the ball and hit Isaiah Wilkins with this insane behind-the-back assist that was just a think of literal beauty.

"Oh, that dish was SAUCY. https://t.co/tZpaDm1NtJ— CBS Sports CBB (@CBSSportsCBB) March 25, 2016"

Now that’s just downright mean. Virginia at that point, as they were blowing the doors off of Iowa State early, were literally just toying with them. It’s one thing to play well against a team, but when you make it look too easy for yourself it gets much, much worse.

If Iowa State doesn’t figure something out –and soon– then they’ll be the latest team on the receiving end of a Sweet 16 blowout.
