It will be the hot-shooting Villanova Wildcats taking on the magic that is Buddy Hield and the Oklahoma Sooners. With a superstar talent against a superstar team, it should be a great battle between the two teams. The only thing guaranteed is that it will take a championship effort to advance to the big game.

Keys to Victory

For the Oklahoma Sooners, the key to game is real simple. Get the ball to Buddy Hield and let him do his thing. He had 37 points against the Oregon Ducks and showed that he can hit from anywhere on the floor. If he is scoring then the Sooners are most likely going to come out on top.

On the flip side, Villanova has to put the pressure on Hield. They got pressure him up the floor early and get the ball out of his hands. They have to let the other players on Oklahoma try to beat them and not Hield. If that means switches and doubles all day and full-court pressures, then Villanova will have to do what it takes just like they did against Kansas.

Offensively, it’s going to have to be some combination of Josh Hart, Kris Jenkins and four-year captain Ryan Arcidiacono. Each of these men can hit from deep and make timely shots when they are needed to. If any combination of them is on, then Oklahoma will have to be on their heels defensively.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Villanova -2

O/U: 144.5

Prediction

If the Sooners are going to head to the National Championship game, then Buddy Hield is going to have to put the team on his back one more time against a Villanova team that can shut opposing offenses down. What’s going to be tough for the Sooners is locking down the amount of shooters that Villanova has.

The team’s senior captain, Ryan Arcidiacono, has come a long way for this moment and the Wildcats really showed their strength against a Kansas team that was favored against them. They’re playing team basketball probably better than any other team in the country right now.

Hield is going to have a great game, but it will not be enough in the end to stop the Wildcats.

Pick: Villanova 76, Oklahoma 69
