WWE rebranded the Divas division at WrestleMania 32, debuting a new Women’s Championship belt

Everyone knew that the WWE Divas division wasn’t going to leave WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, TX the same. The triple threat match for the title between Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch had show-stealing potential from the moment it was announced. However, the Divas division changed more than just with a great match as they had other major plans in store.

As part of the pre-show, before the triple threat had ever taken place, former WWE Women’s Champion and Hall of Famer Lita was out in the ring to make a special announcement. That announcement was a major one as Lita announced that the WWE would be rebranding the division and then unveiled the new Women’s Championship:

This is exactly what WWE has needed to do for a long time. Moreover, that Women’s title belt looks incredible, blowing the stupid Butterfly Divas Championship belt completely out of the water.

With how much more seriously women’s wrestling is being taken in WWE right now, this was a change that’s been a long-time coming. Choosing to do so on a huge stage like WrestleMania 32 is a massive deal and the best way to go about it as every wrestling fan is watching.

Followed later at WrestleMania 32 by the triple threat and with all of the talented women’s wrestlers, this announcement stole the pre-show by a mile and deservedly so.
