Minnesota Vikings’ 2016 NFL schedule released
By Mike Dyce
The Minnesota Vikings’ 2016 schedule has been released and you can see it in its entirety here.
The Minnesota Vikings won the NFC North and a playoff berth in 2015, so expectations are high heading into 2016. With the schedule being released on Thursday night, Vikings fans can now get a glimpse into their road to the playoffs and perhaps the pursuit of the franchise’s first Super Bowl win.
The Vikings will play their NFC foes twice, once at home and away. Then they have a fairly favorable schedule. The NFC North has been paired up with the NFC East and AFC South, two of the easiest divisions in the NFL.
The Vikings will host the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals. That is a fairly tough slate with the Cowboys, Cardinals and Colts all expected to contend for playoff berths and perhaps Super Bowls.
The Vikings travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, and Carolina Panthers. Carolina is the only away game the Vikings should be worried about.
When you look at the Vikings’ 2016 schedule through the lense of tougher opponents traveling to Minnesota and easier opponents for the Vikings on the road, it’s easy to see how they could contend for another division title.
