The Jacksonville Jaguars have in recent years struggled due in large part to bad NFL Draft choices. Here are the five worst picks in Jacksonville history.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will enter 2016 with quite a bit of optimism. Jacksonville has found a great passing offense centered around quarterback Blake Bortles, wide receiver Allen Robinson, wide receiver Allen Hurns, and tight end Julius Thomas. The Jaguars’ 2016 is a favorable one and Jacksonville could legitimately contend for an AFC Playoff berth this fall should things continue to improve in North Florida.

That being said, the Jaguars are at the tail-end of their worst stretch in franchise history. The team that once competed in the AFC Playoffs immediately out of the gate as an expansion team under then head coach Tom Coughlin had been in a tailspin since the late 2000s.

A change of guard in ownership from Wayne Kramer to Shahid Khan, as well as many terrible draft picks had made Jacksonville the losingest franchise in the NFL for the last five seasons. While general manager David Caldwell has made some great draft picks since leaving the Atlanta Falcons organization a few years back, Jacksonville is finally able to overcome some of their awful front office decisions.

As the Jaguars look forward to hopefully another strong NFL Draft in 2016, let’s take the time to look back on the five worst draft selections made by Jacksonville in their short NFL history.
