Jacoby Ellsbury made the play of the night on Friday by stealing home

Having lost seven of their last eight games, the New York Yankees are not having the best time here early in the season. So with this being the case, you’re gonna have to take a few risks here and there to avoid being in the basement of the division.

Well, Jacoby Ellsbury took a nice risk on Friday night against the Tampa Bay Rays, and it just so happened to pay off.

In the bottom of the 5th inning on Friday with the Yankees down 3-2, Ellsbury was able to catch Rays pitcher Matt Moore sleeping on a 3-2 count, and with that, he earned himself a nice steal of home plate.

"A straight steal of home?! @JacobyEllsbury can FLY. #StealAHomehttps://t.co/8oW6VR23Jq— MLB (@MLB) April 23, 2016"

Stealing home is one of the riskiest moves in all of sports, because everything really has to fall into place perfectly for it to happen. You especially have to have the timing down to a tee, something that Ellsbury had here.

With a huge boost of momentum there, maybe now the Yankees can get things turned around and move out of the funk they’ve been in here in April to start the season.
