Jordan Thomas, the top cornerback for the Oklahoma Sooners, faces criminal charges after he was arrested Thursday morning.
Sooners DB Jordan Thomas, one of the up and coming stars of the Big XII, has been arrested and charged with public intoxication, interference, assault, and battery early Thursday morning. The alleged altercation took place outside Logie’s Bar in Norman, Oklahoma.
The junior cornerback started in 11 of Oklahoma’s 13 games in the 2015-2016 season, notching five interceptions en route to being named a First-Team All-Big XII performer by ESPN.com. Thomas returned one of his five interceptions for a touchdown, and defended four passes over the year.

This arrest isn’t Jordan Thomas’s first run in with the law. He was arrested in December for failing to appear in court following a traffic violation, and was suspended twice by Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops during the 2015-2016 season. He was suspended for the entire game of the Oklahoma Sooner’s matchup with Tulsa and was suspended for a quarter in the game played against Akron.
Thomas is an influential person in the Sooner’s locker room and was fixed to be a key member of the Oklahoma team in the 2016-2017 season. With this being his second arrest this year with a history of disciplinary issues, no one knows what Bob Stoops will decide to do with the talented but troublemaking Thomas.
Oklahoma is set to make another run at the College Football Playoff this year with the return of star quarterback Baker Mayfield and most of their supporting cast. Losing Jordan Thomas would be a blow to those chances.
