Looking at the list of women’s competitors for the 2016 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is one of the strangest, most fascinating traditions that Americans have on the 4th of July. For a variety of reasons, people can’t seem to look away from these competitive eaters consuming an absolutely absurd amount of Nathan’s hot dogs in only 10 minutes. However, all you need to know about the popularity of the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is that there is now a men’s and a women’s competition on the 4th of July.

While the men and women used to compete together in an inter-gender competition until 2011, the two have now split into separate contests. Sonya “Black Widow” Thomas was the winner the first three years of the women’s competition at the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Competition, but Miki Sudo has been the winner the past two years.
