Pokemon Go fever has spread across the nation and has now infected Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout.

People from all over the world have become obsessed with Pokemon Go. The mobile game has quickly become the most downloaded smartphone app in the United States. Now it’s starting to reach baseball. Even Los Angeles Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout has a case of Pokemon Go fever.

Baseball teams are starting to embrace Pokemon Go. Minor league baseball teams have either hosted or will be hosting Pokemon Go nights and have even gone as far as opening the stadium for users to catch Pokemon. Small businesses have thrived because of the game as well with so many people walking around and with many small businesses being Pokestops.

Of course, not all of it is good. There have been some questionable Pokestops, including the Holocaust Museum and even memorials at Kent State University. Regardless of how you feel about Pokemon Go, get used to it because it’s not going away anytime soon.

Trout’s Angels have struggled this season. As of July 16, they are in last place in the American League West with a 38-52 record. Despite that, Trout is still having a very impressive season. Trout has a .984 OPS with a .319 batting average and 18 home runs. He might be obsessed with Pokemon Go, but even if he is, it sure isn’t showing on the field. Trout’s still arguably the best player in baseball and continues to put up MVP numbers.
