Live tracker for the full match results from WWE Battleground at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC
WWE Battleground is normally a show reserved for very little to happen as the company builds to SummerSlam. Even if that were originally the plan, though, that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen on Sunday, July 24 at WWE Battleground 2016. There’s simply too much going on coming into the pay-per-view at the Verizon Center for the company to leave Washington, DC without having made some serious noise.
The first big thing that comes to mind is obviously that the WWE Draft was just completed less than a week ago on the first episode of WWE Smackdown Live. Now the rosters are split up and many of these matches are cross-brand matches. Subsequently, there’s an added bit of intrigue there as to if they’re going to put RAW or Smackdown over in some cases.
Of course, there is also the fact that one of the most anticipated matches of the past decade is happening in the min event of WWE Battleground 2016 as WWE Champion Dean Ambrose will defend his title in a triple threat against his two former Shield brothers, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns—the latter making his first on-screen appearance since getting popped for a Wellness Policy violation.
As if that weren’t enough, the door is open for other classic matches and some even bigger moments, including some long-awaited debuts and perhaps a surprise or two along the way as well. The point is that WWE Battleground is a show you’ll need to be fully tuned into.
To make sure that you don’t miss a thing, we’ll be keeping a live tracker of the full match results down below once the Kickoff Show starts at 7 p.m. ET and of course once the WWE Battleground event gets rolling at 8 p.m. ET.
