Buffalo Bills bringing in Reggie Bush for visit
The Buffalo Bills are in the market for a running back, and they’ve taken their interest in Reggie Bush up a notch.

The news of Karlos Williams’ four-game suspension for a violation of the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, which came on the heels of rookie running back Jonathan Williams’ DUI arrest, almost immediately led to rumors tying the Buffalo Bills to Reggie Bush. Further reports from NFL.com and Pro Football Talk suggested the team had made an offer, and the two parties were still talking, but negotiations have now moved into the next phase.
Pro Football Talk has passed along confirmation from the Bills that Bush is going in for a visit on Monday, with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network indicating Bush is expecting to sign pending a physical.
After an unfortunate slip on a slab of concrete just beyond the playing field at Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Bush tore the meniscus in his left knee while playing for the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8 last season. At this point he should be 100 percent healthy, so passing a physical oughtn’t be an issue.
Bush struggled to carve out a significant role in five games for the 49ers last season, notching just eight carries and four catches for a combined 47 yards. At 31 years old, the former Heisman winner is best suited to a minimized role. Still, Bush has been a productive pass catcher throughout his career, tallying 40 or more receptions in seven of nine seasons in which he has played at least 10 games.
The Bills need a suitable backup for LeSean McCoy for the first four weeks of the season — perhaps beyond, should Karlos Williams’ offseason conditioning issues linger. Bush is a perfect fit in that regard, and he if he can stay healthy he could be a potential difference-maker for the Bills.
