Baltimore Ravens’ Breshad Perriman to make preseason debut
By Nick Ziegler
For the first time since being drafted last season, Breshad Perriman will be stepping on the field in live action for the Baltimore Ravens.
2015 was a disappointing year for the Baltimore Ravens, as injuries were a major factor in a poor season. One of the most notable injuries that held the team back was the injury to wide receiver Breshad Perriman.
The Ravens selected Perriman with the 26th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but a tear in one of his right knee ligaments kept him out for the entire season. Perriman was placed on the PUP list in June of this year after suffering a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Despite another knee injury, Perriman is expected to make his NFL debut for the Ravens on Saturday against the Detroit Lions. Perriman won’t be expected to play a lot in the preseason finale for the Ravens, but getting him some reps prior to the start of the season will be good.
When the Ravens drafted Perriman, the hope was that he would be an excellent deep threat for quarterback Joe Flacco. In his sophomore and junior seasons in college, Perriman averaged over 20 yards per reception.
After Torrey Smith signed with the San Francisco 49ers, Perriman was supposed to be the player to replace him. The Ravens’ offense certainly missed having a deep threat to help Flacco stretch the field last seaosn.

Flacco is certainly at his best when he is throwing the ball down the field, and Perriman is a great fit on paper with him. Ravens fans will be very happy to see Perriman in live action for the first time in his career. Even though he won’t be on the field much, look for the Ravens to feature Perriman when he is playing to get him some confidence heading into the regular season.
