Charles Woodson wore a silly outfit for his first Monday Night Football appearance and oh boy Twitter did not let him live it down.
Recently retired cornerback Charles Woodson is joining ESPN’s Monday Night Football crew this season as an analyst. Woodson has seemingly infinite wisdom about football and is one of the most respected players in recent history. In his first week on Monday Night Football, he learned a valuable lesson. That lesson? Don’t do anything remotely controversial fashion-wise unless you want to get roasted by Twitter.
Woodson wore a classy ascot. The ascot has not been popular in quite a few years, but it’s a very nice touch. However, it’s not too popular because it looks like something that a cartoon character would wear.
He also wore sneakers with his nice suit. Trent Dilfer does the same thing. If you’re doing the same thing as Dilfer, that’s not a good thing. Twitter did not let him live down his ridiculous getup. Like all things, people on Twitter hated everything about Woodson’s outfit. But his ascot and sneakers stood out and were the targets of some amazing heckling.

Woodson was an excellent player who has what it takes to be an excellent analyst. He’s likable and he is well-spoken. Unfortunately, Twitter didn’t care because he wore an ascot and sneakers. Here are the best reactions to Woodson’s outfit.

When you’re a future Hall of Famer, you can wear whatever you want. Woodson will not be going to the fashion Hall of Fame any day soon, but he’ll be going to Canton after an impressive NFL career. He finished his career with 1,003 tackles, 20 sacks, 28 forced fumbles, 65 interceptions, and 13 defensive interceptions. Woodson spent time with the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers. After starting his career with the Raiders, he returned to the Raiders for the final three years of his career.
