Manti Te’o injury update: Chargers LB leaves with achilles
By John Buhler
San Diego Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o injures his left leg against the Indianapolis Colts in the first quarter of their Week 3 game in Indianapolis.
The San Diego Chargers are having an awful time with the injury bug in the early part of the 2016 NFL season. They lost wide receiver Stevie Johnson for the year in training camp. Star wide receiver Keenan Allen tore his ACL Week 1 on the road versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
Running back Danny Woodhead tore his ACL in Week 2 at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It seems that the Chargers will have likely lost a fourth starter to a leg injury this season, as linebacker Manti Te’o had to leave San Diego’s Week 3 game at the Indianapolis Colts.
Te’o had to be carted off the field at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in the first quarter. He was unable to put any pressure on his injured left leg. Te’o seems to have wrecked his leg in a devastating non-contact injury. It seems that he ruptured his left Achilles’.
San Diego does not need another season-ending injury to another one of its starters. The Chargers are coming off an atrocious 4-12 2015 NFL season. They are on the verge of possibly leaving San Diego for Los Angeles.

However, another season-ending injury to a starter ruins San Diego’s chances of winning the ultra-competitive AFC West. San Diego was picked to finish fourth in the AFC West at the start of the year. This team will battle through adversity all year, but these injuries are starting to get a bit ridiculous.
