In a new video documentary, the team behind the real-time strategy game, Halo Wars 2, discusses the new multiplayer aspects of the game.

Since 2001, the Halo series has been one of the greatest first-person shooters of all-time. Kicking it all off with Halo: Combat Evolved, this game set the tone for the future of the genre when it comes to the intense and challenging single-player mode and the classic custom games.

It wasn’t until Halo 2 was released that the new online multiplayer mode was launched. Considering that Halo was released before the introduction of Xbox Live, Halo 2 was an absolute game changer. Considered the best entry in the series, Halo 2 is one of the best first-person shooters of all-time and till this day, players around the world can still experience it thanks to Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Four more games have followed up Halo 2 (Halo 3, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, and Halo 5: Guardians) and it’s still going strong. For the most part, the first-person shooter genre is the game roots, but the franchise has ventured into different types of games. Halo Wars released back in 2009 as a real-time strategy game. It received very positive reviews, both from critics and the casual audience. Soon enough, a sequel was announced at E3 2016.

Fans were able to test out Halo Wars 2 on the Xbox One shortly after the Xbox E3 Briefing and some are very excited for this one. In a new ViDoc, you can see the creators behind the game talk about the multiplayer.

Partnering with Creative Assembly, who have created quite a few RTS games, most notably the Total War franchise, they’re bringing their talents to Halo Wars 2 and introducing a variety of ways to play the game.

This game will cater to all kinds of players with different modes to play, such as Deathmatch, Domination, and Stronghold. But, there’s a new mode known as Blitz, which is a tactical combat meets card-based strategy game mode. Basically, you choose a Leader, you build up your deck of cards, and you use these cards to battle against the opposing team.
