WNBA Finals Game 5 live stream: Watch Sparks vs Lynx online
The 2016 WNBA season will come to an end Thursday night. Here’s how to watch Game 5 of the finals between the Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks.
The Minnesota Lynx have built a WNBA dynasty, with three titles in the past five seasons. They’ll look to make it two in a row and four titles in six years on Thursday night, in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals against the Los Angeles Sparks.
The Sparks have also been a successful WNBA franchise, but they haven’t won a title since 2002 with no Finals appearances since 2003. Candace Parker, one of the most successful women’s basketball players ever, college and pro, is searching for her first WNBA championship.
Momentum has shifted back and forth throughout the series, with the Sparks winning Game 1 on a buzzer beater by Alana Beard, the Lynx winning Game 2 by 19 points, the Sparks winning Game 3 by 17 points and finally the Lynx winning Game 4 by six points behind 31 points from Maya Moore.
In terms of pro championship experience, the Lynx have a distinct advantage. Moore, Lindsay Whalen and Seimone Augustus have been mainstays under head coach Cheryl Reeve. But the Sparks have star power too, with Nneka Ogwumike, Beard and Parker leading the way for coach Brian Agler.

With the NFL, college football and playoff baseball going on, the WNBA has definitely been off the grid for most sports fans. But title-deciding games are always worth attention, regardless of sport. So if you can pull away from what may be another bad NFL game Thursday night, or a seemingly never-ending baseball LCS game is not your cup of tea either, the Sparks-Lynx contest is a nice alternative.
