Louisville to wear glow in the dark cleats vs NC State (Photo)
Louisville will be rocking these glow in the dark cleats for Saturday’s game versus NC State.
Louisville and North Carolina State will be going to battle to open Saturday afternoon’s slate of college football games. The Cardinals are ranked No. 7 and have a 5-1 record, while the Wolf Pack are 4-2. They could have been 5-1 after taking Clemson to overtime last week but allowed a touchdown to take the loss, 24-17.
On occasion, Louisville tends to wear different uniforms or go with a unique design on their helmets. This has featured a large Cardinal on their headgear in the past or a dark one with red outlines. So, the school seemingly enjoys a flashy style for every game.
Well, they’re about to take things one step further. The Cardinals revealed they will wear glow in the dark cleats for Saturday’s game against NC State. They’re unlike anything that has been seen this season and is the school’s latest attempt at going outside the box in their look.
These cleats are intriguing and should be something the players love. However, wouldn’t it make more sense to wear these at night? Given how Saturday’s game is at noon ET in full daylight, they probably won’t have a full effect, if any. Using these at night would bring a better visual and let the players stick out more. They have a night game against Houston on Thursday, November 17, so it’s possible these cleats could be used for that.

As for wearing them on Saturday’s game, it may make Lamar Jackson literally glow as he sprints by the NC State defense. Given his 832 yards rushing this season, we’ll surely see him dash multiple times in these unique cleats and stand out. Even the wide receivers will stick out every time they stretch the field. It should make for quite the visual.
