During Inside the NBA, analyst Charles Barkley called Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thomspon the second-best player in the world.
It took only all of five minutes for Charles Barkley to get every basketball fan fired up again. As Inside the NBA returned ahead of the NBA season kicking off on Tuesday night, Barkley was firing the hot takes early and often. As the crew discussed the best players in the world, Barkley listed Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson as the second-best player in the world.
He had Thompson right behind LeBron James and then confused everyone by throwing Kawhi Leonard into the mix, which meant Barkley couldn’t count and neither could we. So it seems like Barkley meant third best player in the world.
While Thompson is a great player in this league, it seems crazy that Barkley would list him over the last two MVP’s in Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. Once again, the analyst had gotten a little ahead of himself with his opinions.
The rest of the crew was taken aback that he didn’t have Durant up there. However, Barkley just feels that strongly about Thompson. He’s never been afraid to talk about why he doesn’t feel the Warriors can win a championship, but this one was a little strange, even for Barkley standards.
