The 2016 MLS regular season has come to an end. Now 12 of the 20 teams continue their season in the playoffs as the knockout round takes place on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Toronto FC will host the Philadelphia Union in the first of four knockout round, single elimination matches as both teams face off for the fourth time this season.
Philadelphia began its season strongly as they sat towards the top of the Eastern Conference Standings for most of the spring and summer. However, the Union have found themselves in a slump, as their last win came on August 27 against Sporting Kansas City.
On the other hand, Toronto FC comes into the match with momentum. TFC won its regular season finale against Chicago Fire 3-2 and have home field advantage for Wednesday night’s knockout round match.

Wednesday night’s match between Toronto and Philadelphia is the first of two MLS Playoffs games that day. The winner moves onto the next playoff round, while the loser packs it up as its season comes to an end. Fans can watch this match on ESPN2, TSN2, or in Spanish on UniMas.
