Philadelphia 76ers rookie center Joel Embiid was introduced at the Wells Fargo Center before the 76ers’ home game versus the Orlando Magic as “The Process”.

The 2016-17 Philadelphia 76ers aren’t going to win a lot of games, but are still one of the best watches in the NBA this season. Why? Because rookie center Joel Embiid is finally playing for the team that drafted him No. 3 overall in 2014.

Embiid is becoming a Philadelphia sensation for his great play for the 76ers, albeit on a minutes restriction. The former pride and joy of the Sam Hinkie experiment in Philadelphia has taken the “Trust the Process” to heart. Embiid has adopted that as his nickname and is now being introduced as “The Process” at 76ers games. (h/t Pro Basketball Talk)

In the City of Brotherly Love that once adored “The Answer” Allen Iverson, the 76ers faithful embracing all that comes with “The Process” that is Embiid. He is still working his way back from a foot injury that sidelined him the last two seasons, but Embiid is making the most of his minutes on the court for the 76ers.

In 24 minutes on Tuesday night against the Orlando Magic, Embiid had 18 points on 6-12 shooting, 10 rebounds, four blocks, and three assists. When he is able to play 40 minutes a game for head coach Brett Brown, look out NBA!

It’s almost impossible to imagine that in the same season that Philadelphia drafted Ben Simmons No. 1 out of LSU that it would be Embiid that would be the biggest ticket in town. Simmons may not return to the court for the 76ers until January after fracturing his foot in the preseason.

The 76ers are not a playoff-caliber team in the Eastern Conference this year, but their hypertanking days are clearly a thing of the past. Philadelphia almost won on Tuesday night, losing to the Magic on a pair of late Serge Ibaka free throws, 103-101.
