NFL playoffs 2016: NFC Playoff Picture: Week 14
Looking ahead to Week 14, here’s a look at the playoff picture in the NFC.
Week 13 of the 2016 NFL regular season will come to an end Monday night, with the Indianapolis Colts taking on the New York Jets. So we can look start to look ahead to Week 14 in the NFC, and get a clear look at the playoff picture as it stands right now.
Let’s start with the division leaders.
NFC East: Dallas Cowboys (11-1)-The Cowboys have already clinched a playoff spot, and they are currently in the driver’s season for home field advantage in the NFC.
NFC West: Seattle Seahawks (8-3-1)- The Seahawks have been up-and-down this season, but here they are as the No. 2 seed in the NFC right now. The road to the Super Bowl still has a chance to go through Seattle, which is a daunting prospect for the rest of the NFC.
NFC North: Detroit Lions (8-4)- The Lions have won four straight games, and they are now two games clear of everyone else in the NFC North. Their remaining schedule is tough, but an improving defense and a dark horse MVP candidate in quarterback Matt Stafford has the Lions on a track to the playoffs.
NFC South: Atlanta Falcons (7-5)- The Falcons and the Tampa Buccaneers split their season series. So they are in a proverbial tie for the lead in the NFC South, with Atlanta’s better division record as the tie-breaker right now.
Wild Card Contenders: New York Giants (8-4), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5), Washington Redskins (6-5-1), Green Bay Packers (6-6), Minnesota Vikings (6-6), Arizona Cardinals (5-6-1), Philadelphia Eagles (5-7), New Orleans Saints (5-7)
