The Redskins forgot to cover Ted Ginn Jr. on touchdown (Video)

The Washington Redskins apparently forgot to cover Carolina Panthers wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. because he was wide open for this 30-yard touchdown catch.

The Washington Redskins entered Monday Night Football against the Carolina Panthers with a 7-5-1 record and percentage points ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the No. 6 seed in the NFC Playoffs picture.

Washington has a solid football team, but has had its issues on defense this season. The Redskins completely forgot that Ted Ginn Jr. was on the field for the Carolina Panthers. Here is Ginn catching a wide open 30-yard touchdown from Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

Newton has his issues with accuracy as a passer, but more often than not he’ll end up hitting Ginn on a deep vertical bomb in the Panthers passing game. Ginn has become a great deep threat for Newton over the years in Carolina. This latest connection of theirs is as marvelous as the many touchdowns this duo has had from before.

For Carolina, this game is their Super Bowl. If the Panthers do not beat the Redskins on Monday Night Football, they will be eliminated from playoff contention in the NFC. Carolina’s only hope to make the 2016 NFC Playoffs is as the No. 6, a far cry from the team that finished 15-1 atop the NFC from the year before.

Washington won the NFC East last season, but play in the same division with two great football teams in the Dallas Cowboys (12-2) and the New York Giants (10-4). These are the only two teams in the NFC that can clinch home field advantage.

Washington can only make the NFC Playoffs as the No. 6, but can retain that playoff spot with a win at home over the Panthers on Monday Night Football.
