Julio Jones continued the Falcons devastation of the Packers with an epic 73-yard touchdown.

The Atlanta Falcons have not been kind to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game.  Quarterback Matt Ryan and receiver Julio Jones have been carving apart the Packers secondary like a warm knife through butter.

To start the second half, Green Bay probably had at least some faint hopes of a comeback. However, Jones outright destroyed those hopes and dreams with an unforgettable 73 yard touchdown along the sideline.

Over 50 of those yards were after the catch, making the run even more impressive. Jones has set a pretty high standard for excellence with his ridiculous athleticism. However, this is incredible, even for him. Easily in Jones’ top five plays of all-time. Might even be his greatest one considering the circumstances.

While there was a flag during the play, Jones didn’t care. He wanted to score. Even if it would have been called back, it would still be equally unforgettable. Luckily for everyone, the run and effort were not in vein, as the penalty was on Green Bay. Jones somehow manages to stay inbounds despite tiptoeing along the sideline for part of the run. If Ryan wins the NFL MVP, everyone ought to remember Julio has been a significant reason for his success.

This gave the Falcons a 31-0 lead over the Packers. All things considered, football fans haven’t seen a dominant performance like this in the postseason in some time. To dominate a team that had won eight straight games this badly is impressive, no matter who you are.

Barring a ridiculous comeback, it looks like the Falcons will be moving on to Houston.
