The Super Bowl halftime show always has popular names join the main attraction, but that may not be the case this year with Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga is set to be the Super Bowl 51 halftime performer. She’ll take on the role that other big names in the music industry have before her, like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Beyonce, and more. It’s a grand stage that will have potentially one-third of the country watching, including the tens of thousands in attendance at NRG Stadium on Sunday.
The Super Bowl halftime act has usually been a combination of performers, however, along with the main attraction. Super Bowl 50’s show saw Coldplay have Beyonce and Bruno Mars join them on stage, making for a star-studded performance. For Lady Gaga, she is unlikely to have any guest performers. However, according to Emma Quigley, Pepsi’s North American head of music, via Billboard, there could be something up her sleeve for the performance:
"She’s one of the few people that could probably carry it herself if she wanted to or needed to. You never know what she has up her sleeve, but if she has to go it alone, she certainly will."
When it comes to potential guest performers, everyone will probably look toward Beyonce after this Instagram post that caused fans to speculate. There may also be someone or something else joining Gaga — drones. That could make this Super Bowl performance one of the most unique ones we’ve seen, depending on what the potential plan is for this.

Whoever or whatever ends up appearing with Lady Gaga during halftime will be something to watch for. It will make for an entertaining show in the middle of what should be an offensive showdown between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.
