Super Bowl 51 is in the books. You can never take it away from Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft and New England. Congrats to the Patriots for taking advantage of the Falcons.
Now, Atlanta. How in the world did you let this happen to you and to us? It was a peaceful, joyful, easy Sunday. 28-3 the game was over. But, no no no. Now we have a tennis star, Eugenie Bouchard, having to go on date with a random dude she bet on twitter that the game was over. Bouchard has to travel to Chicago to do it. And, what about the rest of us? Pure pain.
Please tell the football world why Dan Quinn and Kyle Shanahan had to try and out-think themselves and football common sense. Run the ball. How in the world did you not run the ball? Pee-wee coaches would have run it three times at the 22, kicked the field goal and gone home and everyone would have had their cheetos happily.
After the game Quinn commented “We ran out of gas.” If I was a member of the Atlanta defense I would want to strangle him. Look coach, we had only been on the field all day, help a defense out? Please stop talking about next year too. Irrelevant, and I’ll bet you Tom Brady’s stolen jersey, you don’t make it back again in 2017.
I feel for Falcons fans. I feel for fans who are against cheating. I feel for fans who do things the right way and admit when they are wrong. Super Bowl 51 will forever be a hard one to swallow.
